Job Description


The Integrated Designer and DTP specialist is responsible for conceptualising, designing and producing various materials to communicate ideas and messages effectively. The Graphic designer collaborates with cross-functional teams to create visually appealing and impactful designs that meet the companyxe2x80x99s goals and visual identity guidelines.
Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications or a related field

A minimum of 3-5 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in a graphic design role.

Knowledge / Skills

  • Microsoft Office skills.
  • Proven experience as a Mid-weight Graphic Designer with a strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design projects
  • Understanding of brand guidelines and standards and the ability to maintain these guidelines
  • Familiarity with different file formats and printing processes
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite: Indesign (skilled), Photoshop (intermediate), Illustration (intermediate), After Effects/digital animation (skilled)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Project management skills
Duties and Responsibilities

Design Quality & Brand Consistency
  • Producing high-quality and visually appealing designs that align with the companyxe2x80x99s visual identity and project objectives
  • Ensuring accuracy, clarity and consistency in all design elements, including layout, typography, colour and imagery
  • Attention to detail and an eye for aesthetics and visual consistency
Production
  • Print preparation: Preparing documents for print production, including setting up bleeds, margins, and color profiles, to ensure accurate and high-quality printing
  • Digital publishing: Prepare documents for digital distribution, such as PDFs or interactive digital publications, optimising them for online viewing and accessibility
  • Proofreading: Review documents for typographical errors, layout inconsistencies, and other issues before finalising them for print or digital distribution
Project and Time management
  • Plan and prioritise tasks and ensure that projects are delivered on time.
  • Ensure that approvals are submitted to Head of Creative Services timeously.
  • Engage with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that tasks are completed in order for projects to be implemented successfully.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality in the work produced.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams and deliver designs that meet stakeholder expectations
  • Communicating design concepts clearly and professionally to both team members and stakeholders, incorporating feedback constructively
Adaptability
  • Work on diverse design projects, adapting to different styles, formats and target audiences as required.
  • Agility in terms of managing competing priorities.
Software Proficiency & Industry Trends
  • Strong command of graphic design software (Adobe Creative Suite), design trends, techniques, and software advancements to enhance creative output.
