Job Description

The ICT Manager is responsible for the ICT (Information and Communications Technology) Services within the company in respect of all ICT infrastructure. The role is Durban based and reports directly to the CEO. The purpose of this position is to manage the effective and efficient functioning and delivery of IT systems, solutions, software, and hardware platforms across the organisation and to provide users with a seamless user experience thereby contributing positively to the achievement of organisational goals and objectives. Responsible for ensuring the capability of the organisation to adequately deal with any disruption to ICT service continuity.


ICT Planning

- Formulation and implementation of annual ICT Planning with associated CAPEX and OPEX budget inputs


Align IT and business strategy Must be cognizant of industry technology trends and applicability of hardware, software, and cloud solutions to address business requirements Act as the point of contact between the executive and internal/external clients Liaise with relevant Business area to ensure clarity & efficiency whilst maintaining segregation of duties with respect to business applications Develop and refine ICT governance policies and procedures to provide good stewardship in the organisation and to apply the company's ICT resources effectively Provide quarterly Board Report feedback Maintain an ICT Disaster Recovery Plan Maintain an ICT Risk Register

Operations

- manage ICT operations to ensure systems access and stability and resolve outages in accordance with SLA's


Service operations (Event and incident management, access management, request tracking and fulfilment) Availability and Capacity management, IT service continuity management and Information Security management Service transition management (Change management, Configuration management and Release management) Ensure that the configuration of core Infrastructure architecture and critical business systems is documented Establish and test local and cloud backup policies Ascertain root cause of high severity or repetitive service outages Responsible for the management of IT contractors and service providers on core ICT infrastructure Manage costs

Projects

- responsible to oversee ICT initiatives to ensure that all technology-related projects run smoothly and align with overall company strategy


ICT Security

- responsible for defining, communicating, and enforcing technology-related policies, standards and procedures


Secure the network perimeter from possible attacks and threats Implement tools to protect against cyber security risks Define and implement domain access management controls including remote connectivity

Compliance

- responsible to manage compliance of ICT infrastructure and data in terms of legislative requirements eg. POPIA


Assess and manage compliance in terms of IT services and data under the control of the IT department Implement and improve processes and management tools

Licencing

- responsible to manage vendor licencing compliance with respect to ICT infrastructure software and Cloud services


Ensure licenses are adequate and up to date Be cognizant of licensing life cycles, EOS, EOL and upgrade paths

Outsourced Services and Support contracts

- responsible for assessing, evaluating, and managing Cloud and Outsourced Services with respect to ICT infrastructure


Ensure adequate hardware and software support contracts are in place Manage vendor warranty obligations Evaluate opportunities to migrate to Managed Cloud Services were appropriate Review existing managed service agreements Issue RFPs to evaluate market service offerings and pricing

IT Procurement

- responsible for the purchasing of technology related assets and analyzing the point at which hardware/software should be replaced, based on total cost of ownership (TCO) and capabilities/ features


Actively participate in supplier selection and procurement processes Support the Procurement & Contracts Manager in the administration of Contracts

Appropriate IT Technical qualifications MCSE / Azure / HP APS / Storage Fundamentals / Mimecast IT Service Management Framework - ITIL V2 / V3 or V4 Min 10 years ICT technical experience

Solid understanding of IT Infrastructure and Service Management. Strong technical background with knowledge of the following ICT components. + Server technologies including hardware, operating systems, virtualization, storage, backup, and replication. + Networking technologies including WAN, LAN, VLAN's, routers, switches, remote access, VOIP and Video Conferencing platforms,
+ Cybersecurity technologies such as firewalling, VPN's antimalware/antivirus, Web filtering, Cloud backup and replication, ransomware protection.
+ Cloud technologies including SAAS/PAAS/IAAS
+ Desktop technologies including workstations, laptops and thin clients
+ Mobile technologies and mobile apps e.g. tablets and cell phones
+ Business applications including ERP, production systems, Business Intelligence and reporting and associated databases
+ Microsoft Office Suite
