Job Description

To maintain an efficient and reliable overhead High Voltage Lines Network.
Key Responsibility Areas

• Undertakes the construction, maintenance, operation, repair and testing of Overhead High
• Voltage Lines and associated equipment from low voltages to 275 kV as required in large electricity supply undertakings in accordance with instructions and accepted procedures.
• Performing administration functions.
• Performing safety function in compliance with the OHS Act (1993), eThekwini Electricityxe2x80x99s codes of practice, safety rules and system operating regulations and other statutory regulations.
• Undertaking related duties.

Essential Requirements

• Must be a qualified Electrician who has served an apprenticeship recognized by the Department of Labour or be a qualified Electrician with a Trade Test Certificate recognized by the Department of Employment and Labour.
• Must be in possession of a NTC2 or NCV3 in Electrical Engineering from a Further Education and Training College registered with the Department of Education.
• Valid Code EB or EC1 (10) driving license or be able to obtain one within 6 months of date of appointment.
• Must be in possession of a Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) or obtain one within 6 months of the date of appointment if required.
• Must be trained in First Aid or be trained within 6 months of the date of appointment.
• Must pass a proficiency test set by the department to prove sufficient general knowledge in the relevant field.
• 2 Years relevant experience.

Preferred Requirements

• 3 Years relevant experience.
