Human Resources Manager Site Based

Job Description


The Site based HRM will be responsible for overseeing all human resources activities at our mining, plant and production sites, ensuring compliance with labour laws, managing employee relations, and fostering a positive work environment. This role requires exceptional interpersonal skills, extensive knowledge of labour regulations, and the ability to effectively communicate and negotiate with trade union representatives.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with labour laws, regulations, and health and safety standards specific.
  • Regularly review and remain compliant and up to date on company HR policies and procedures to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Foster a positive work environment by promoting open communication, resolving conflicts, and addressing employee concerns promptly and fairly.
  • Collaborate with trade union representatives to negotiate and administer collective bargaining agreements.
  • Mediate disputes and grievances between employees and management to maintain relations and minimize work disruptions.
  • Partner with site and department managers to identify workforce needs to ensure an effective recruitment processes.
  • Coordinate the recruitment process for mining site positions, including sourcing, screening, interview feedback.
  • Follow standardised onboarding programs to ensure smooth integration of new employees into the working environment.
  • Oversee clock-in systems and processes to accurately track employee attendance, working hours, and overtime.
  • Monitor and manage employee time records, ensuring compliance with labour regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with payroll and finance departments to ensure accurate and timely payment of wages and benefits.
  • Manage the employee performance review process, providing guidance and support to managers and employees.
  • Administer compensation and benefits programs, ensuring compliance with company policies and market benchmarks.
Requirements

Requirements to succeed in the position
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an HR Manager in a mining or heavy industry environment.
  • Strong knowledge of labour laws, regulations, and health and safety standards specific to mining sites.
  • Demonstrated experience in handling clock-ins and managing time and attendance systems.
  • Familiarity with collective bargaining agreements and experience working with trade unions.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in HRIS and other relevant software applications.
