Job Description


JOB PURPOSE

Interpret organisational objectives to develop a Human Resources strategy, to direct and manage the functions of the Human Resources value chain to establish a stable, competent, and productive workforce supporting the attainment of organizational strategic objectives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Formulate and implement the human resource strategy according to the companys business strategy to

Provide a strategic interface to senior manages / stakeholders through the provision of high quality guidance and support in developing and progressing people management solutions to achieve business objectives

Review current human resource management practices against business needs and customer requirements and motivate for improvement to support service delivery by defining the gaps

Continuously drive the implementation of the Human Resources initiatives through effective project management, quality assurance and change management activities to address business requirements

Formulate and ensure the implementation of performance management systems to optimise individual and organisational performance according to organisational objectives.

Support organisational effectiveness through proper alignment of people, processes, structure, and culture with business strategies

Minimise the exposure to legislative contravention by implementing policies and procedures in full support of legislative requirements (BCEA; LRA; SDA; SLAs etc)

Ensure the development and maintenance of an HR development program to facilitate employee training and development according to organisational requirements. (Inclusive of a talent Management program)

Directs the development of Employee Relations strategy for the business, facilitating the enhancement of employer and bargaining partner relationships.

Manage the industrial relations function to ensure that Air Chefs IR policy, collective labour agreements and industrial relations structures comply with the business strategy, relevant legislation and with the company's IR philosophy/strategies.

Ensure compliance with Security Procedures

Monitor and evaluate developments in the national business environment or legislation and internal/external organisational climate, evaluate their implications to the business strategy, and advise business management on appropriate mitigating strategies.

Manage business risk, through continuous internal and external monitoring of business impact, as well as changes in stakeholder needs

Ensure the regular auditing of HR services to ensure the implementation of appropriate systems and processes according to the operational needs and objectives.

Develop and implement a remuneration strategy to ensure the attraction and retention of competent staff according to the organisational needs and financial ability.

Manage the development, implementation and ensure adherence to employment equity programs and career path planning systems.

Ensures the implementation of an adult education programme to upgrade the employee numeracy and literacy levels according to organisational.

Ensure the implementation of a wellness program to create awareness, identify and treat wellness related problems with/of employees according to organisational requirements and sound wellness management principles.

Ensure that appropriate systems are implemented to conduct HR reporting, trend analysis, forecasting

Support organisational effectiveness through proper alignment of people, processes, structure, and culture with business strategies

Financial Management

Interpret organisational objectives and needs across disciplines to ensure the availability and management of funds to meet the objectives of the HR function.

Allocate and monitor the utilisation of financial resources according to functional objectives.

Manage the commercial value-add of the discipline-related programs and projects.

Facilitate and evaluate proposal for the function to ensure validity and adherence to organisational ROI principles

Control expenditure according to budget to ensure efficient cash flow management

People Management

Manage resource allocation to ensure effective staffing levels and utilisation according to organisational needs

Manages subordinates' key performance areas by setting and monitoring adherence to performance targets

Take appropriate ER action to correct non-performance to ensure the attainment of set objectives.

Prepares career development plans, appraises progress and provides training and coaching to develop subordinates to their full potential.

SHEQ

Ensure the effective implementation and monitoring of SHE related programs in Air Chefs according to the various system requirements

Stakeholder Engagement

Manages external service providers and clients by co-ordinating the implementation of projects and service level agreements.

Develop and maintain relationships with external role players (government, business etc.) to influence decision making/interpretation in favour of the organisation.

Facilitate and maintain effective stakeholder and business relationships through appropriate relationship building, networking and reporting activities

Education Level: (minimum)

Degree or similar relevant qualification

Experience and skills:

At least 8 years experience in HR management

Computer literacy

Interpersonal Skill

Strong written and oral skill

Employer relations experience

Strategic Management skill
