HR MANAGER (Manufacturing) R 50-60k pm - KRAAIFONTEIN / STELLENBOSCH, CPT
A respected leader in South Africa's manufacturing sector is looking for an experienced HR Manager to oversee and elevate its people strategy. With a workforce between 100-200 employees, this role combines two critical focus areas: building high-performing sales teams through effective recruitment and driving staff welfare and development programmes that empower employees at every level - to grow with the company.

The right candidate will have experience / exposure to the following:
HR Strategy & Management
Act as the in-house HR expert, providing practical and legally sound advice and solutions.
Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the company's long-term objectives.
Promote a positive, inclusive, and performance-driven culture across all levels of the organisation.
Employment Equity & Compliance
Manage the full Employment Equity process including reports, committee meetings, and submissions.
File Employment Equity and Annual Return of Earnings reports with the Department of Labour and maintain Certificates of Compliance.
Ensure HR operations and industrial relations comply with South African labour legislation and industry agreements (e.g., MEIBC, SEIFSA).
HR Administration
Maintain and update organisational structures, organograms, and staff complement lists.
Oversee job descriptions, contracts, and HR policies to ensure accuracy and relevance.
Provide guidance to managers and supervisors on employee leave, disciplinary matters, and day-to-day HR queries.
Recruitment & Induction
Lead recruitment efforts, with a strong focus on building and retaining a capable, driven sales force.
Partner with management to define role requirements and source the right talent.
Prepare job adverts, conduct competency-based interviews, oversee reference checks, and administer offers/contracts.
Facilitate smooth HR inductions for new employees.
Training, Development & Staff Welfare
Design and implement learning programmes for all staff, including financial literacy, debt management (e.g., HP awareness), and responsible personal finance practices.
Develop upskilling initiatives to enable employees to grow with the company and progress in their careers.
Prepare and submit Workplace Skills Plans and Annual Training Reports.
Partner with managers to identify skills gaps and deliver impactful, practical training solutions.
Industrial & Labour Relations
Guide managers and supervisors on handling misconduct and performance management.
Oversee disciplinary hearings, CCMA cases, and retrenchment processes to ensure compliance and fairness.
Maintain constructive relationships with unions, bargaining councils, and external stakeholders.
Support employee engagement and Employee Assistance Programmes.
Health & Safety Support
Maintain H&S documentation and compliance notices.
Coordinate training initiatives (e.g., forklift licences, H&S compliance) and liaise with external service providers.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years' HR management experience, ideally within manufacturing, FMCG, or sales-driven industries.
  • Relevant Bachelors Degree in HR
  • Proven track record in recruitment, with experience hiring sales teams.
  • Strong background in staff welfare and learning & development, with practical experience rolling out training for diverse staff bases.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
