Job Summary Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 yearsxe2x80x99 Generalist Human Resources experience
  • Knowledge of the Education or Publishing industry is advantageous
  • Thorough understanding of South African labour law. i.e. BCEA, LRA, Employment Equity, Skills Development, Health & Safety, etc. is essential
  • Full MS Office skills and knowledge is essential
  • Experience and exposure to HR Systems like Sage HR system; most importantly Workday which is essential
  • General knowledge and understanding of relevant Southern African countries legislation (Botswana, Namibia, Eswatini
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the employee lifecycle from onboarding process to the employee exit procedures.
  • Ensure that all the relevant information relating to payroll administration i.e. new starters and leavers, contract changes, termination forms are submitted before payroll deadline.
  • Provide guidance on employee relations related issues for the respective countries and areas looked after and act as a liaison between the relevant parties involved
  • Deliver advice and guidance to Management and Employees on matters related to all HR policies and procedures.
  • Ensure and maintain the integrity of the leave system.
  • Manage and lead the ICAS (Wellness Programe) process and initiative.
  • Manage the roll-out and successful implementation of business aligned global and Southern African HR initiatives within the designated businesses.
  • Efficiently create and facilitate regional training programs focused on various aspects of human resources.
  • Ensure, manage, and maintain the integrity of the information captured on HR Digital/Workday. Provide quarterly reports to HRD, or as and when required.
  • Support staff on the Performance Management process, from objective setting, mid-year reviews and end of year reviews, done through the LEAP system.
  • Work with HRD and Senior Managers to drive and co-ordinate Global xe2x80x93driven training programs for key management employees.
  • Facilitate and ensure that all training initiatives are loaded on LEAP as part of PM and Skills Development process.
  • Manage the process of employee bursary applications, including the calculation of bursary pay-back commitments, and generating bursary agreements.
  • Manage and ensure that Workplace Skills Plan, Skills Development, Employment Equity and Management Control reports are completed and submitted timeously for BBBEE and Internal Audit purposes.
  • Engage in quarterly meetings with Regional Supervisors and Management teams on HR related matters and projects.
  • Keeping abreast with all new Legislation and other issues in area of responsibility.
  • Manage the Declaration of Interest process and report on it quarterly
