Hr Coordinator

Job Description

:
An international organisation that focuses on conservation and sustainability is hiring an HR Coordinator. This role reports to the Director of HR and Communications. You'll be a mature and pro-active person who is adept at HR functions, policies and procedures, with sound knowledge of South African labour law. This role will suit someone who is available to start immediately and this maternity cover role runs until 15 December 2025.
Responsibilities

  • Maintain employee records according to policy and legal requirements.
  • Prepare tracking sheets and documentation for Payroll and handover to the Payroll Manager monthly.
  • Ensure that tracking sheets relating to Employee Benefits are kept up to date.
  • Be actively involved in recruitment by preparing job descriptions, posting ads and managing the hiring process.
  • Implement effective onboarding plans.
  • Assist in developing training and development programmes.
  • Support the management of disciplinary and grievance issues.
  • Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems.
  • Other related duties to support the Director: HR and Communications.
Requirements
What you'll bring
  • Human Resources Degree or Diploma.
  • 2 - 3 years of appropriate experience.
  • Experience in using Microsoft TEAMS, SharePoint and Office 365.
  • Good practical working knowledge of South African Labour Law.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Proven ability to multitask, set priorities, and meet critical deadlines.
  • Ability to take initiative to solve problems without continual supervision.
  • Service orientation and ability to gain cross-organisation cooperation to complete diverse duties.
  • Experience working effectively with a wide range of staff from a variety of disciplines, cultures, and backgrounds.
  • Mature individual who can deal with situations empathetically, while remaining objective and fair.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
