Purpose of this Role:



The HR & Compliance Specialist ensures that the organisation meets its statutory and regulatory obligations related to B-BBEE, Skills Development, and Employment Equity. This role is responsible for coordinating audits, preparing submissions, maintaining accurate records, and supporting management in driving transformation and compliance initiatives.



Key Responsibilities:



1.

B-BBEE Compliance

:


Prepare and coordinate annual B-BBEE verification audits. Collect, verify and manage all documentation required for scorecard elements (ownership, management control, skills development, procurement, enterprise and supplier development, and socio-economic development). Monitor and report on B-BBEE compliance status and advise management on risks and opportunities. Engage with verification agencies and provide required information during audit processes.

2.

Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) & Annual Training Report (ATR)

:




Compile and submit the WSP/ATR to the relevant SETA within legislative deadlines. Maintain accurate training and skills development records. Liaise with training providers and internal stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of skills programmes. Monitor opportunities for discretionary and mandatory grant applications.

3.

General Compliance & Administration

:




Maintain accurate and up-to-date compliance records and policies. Provide regular compliance and transformation reports to management. Keep abreast of legislative changes and ensure company policies are updated accordingly. Support HR in initiatives that promote transformation, diversity and inclusivity

4.

Employment Equity (EE)

:




Support the Employment Equity Committee and coordinate EE meetings. Prepare and submit annual EE reports (EEA2 & EEA4) to the Department of Labour. Ensure alignment of EE plans with company strategy and legislative requirements. Facilitate awareness and communication on EE in the workplace.

5. Training Calendar & Curriculum Management:


Develop and maintain an annual training calendar aligned with organizational goals and employee development needs Design and update training curricula for various roles, departments, and skill levels Use data to identify gaps, recommend improvements, and support talent development strategies Align curriculum with competency frameworks, compliance requirements, and strategic objectives


Relevant tertiary qualification in HR, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or related field. 3-5 years' experience in compliance, transformation, HR, or a related role. Experience in B-BBEE audit preparation, WSP submissions, and EE reporting is essential. Excellent organisational and administrative skills. Analytical ability to interpret legislation and audit requirements. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills. * High attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.
