Job Overview
As the HR Business Partner for the site, you will be responsible for supporting Senior and Line Managers to drive the transformational agenda and objective achievement for both HR and operations. The position reports to the HR Manager and HR business partnering is a key requirement with reference to:
Bringing strong HR technical expertise to the site with a deep understanding of company business needs and related strategy; providing advice, guidance, support and communication
Be the main point of contact for all operational heads and employee interactions
Working with the broader Global HR Team to deliver business wide solutions
Ensuring adherence to all appropriate policies, practices and procedures as required by legislation
Duties and tasks
Create and deliver effective and efficient, forward looking and modern HR approaches to:
Sourcing and talent acquisition initiatives
Providing support to the site with learning and development - through programs, coaching and mentoring
Support the implementation of key succession planning initiatives
Partner with Line Management for effective resource planning impacting on people efficiencies
Effective management of key stakeholders including unions
Initiate and manage the execution of statutory reports (Employment Equity, etc.)
Key role player in maintaining healthy relationships with all stakeholders and partners to the business (e.g. E6 Global HR Team, Auditors, Unions, etc.)
Compile, submit and analyze HR metrics initiatives that assist business decision making and effective management of all HR related systems and processes
Advise managers on matters relating to HR activities including national statues and internal policies
Drive and support operational teams with the implementation of key cost efficiency initiatives relating to absenteeism, leave liability, overtime cost management, etc.
Champion simple, agile, business focused HR practice and ensure a flexible approach to contribute in non-HR areas of the business
Provide guidance and leadership to Line Managers on all employee relations matters
Key role player in driving a high-performance driven culture and instilling a culture of discipline
Qualifications
Qualifications and experience
A relevant Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Commerce degree in either Industrial/Organisational Psychology or Human Resource Management through a reputable institution is essential
A relevant post-graduate degree will be an added advantage
At least 3 - 5 years relevant hands-on general HR Business Partnering experience within the FMCG manufacturing environment in the same or similar position
Relevant experience in managing complex union relations with proven track record
Criteria and Skills
Experience in delivering change through own leadership and through others and has a natural style of change management to draw deep insight and charisma
Ability to keep things simple and focused in terms of performance delivery
Is curious about modern HR thinking
Must be a self-starter with a creative and innovative style when approaching complex matters
Excellent Microsoft package experience (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point) and ensure optimum utilization of all human resource information systems
Must have sound experience in managing the requirements of a Management team in a complex environment
Must have the ability to make independent decisions in a fast paced environment with little supervision
