We are currently looking for a passionate and enthusiastic
HR Advisor
.
The HR Advisor provides first-line HR support to employees and managers within the UK Strategic Business Unit, ensuring consistent, efficient, and people-focused delivery of HR services. Operating as the first point of contact within the HR team, the role balances administrative accuracy, people operations, and employee relations case support. This position is pivotal in embedding a positive employee experience, ensuring compliance, and supporting the development of a high-performance culture.
Key Responsibilities
HR Administration & Operations
Act as the first point of contact for employee and manager queries, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
Manage core HR administration including contracts, onboarding, leavers, and changes to terms and conditions.
Maintain HRIS and employee records, ensuring data accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with GDPR.
Support payroll processes by preparing and validating monthly data.
Produce standard HR letters, reports, and documentation as required.
Manage people inbox to ensure SLA's are adhered to.
People Operations
Assist with policy implementation, ensuring consistent application across the UK SBU.
Coordinate and administer employee lifecycle processes, including probation reviews, exit interviews, and reference requests.
Provide basic HR metrics and insights (e.g., turnover, absence, headcount) to support people reporting.
Support employee engagement initiatives, surveys, and follow-up actions.
Employee Relations Support
Work closely with People Partners and the Head of People Operations to support case management for employee relations issues (e.g., absence, performance, disciplinary, grievance).
Draft documentation for employee relations processes under guidance of more senior HR colleagues.
Maintain case notes and ensure accurate record-keeping for compliance.
Escalate complex or high-risk matters appropriately.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Essential:
+ Previous experience in an HR administration or coordinator role.
+ Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
+ Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
+ Strong communication skills, with confidence in dealing with employees at all levels.
+ Working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
+ Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office.
Desirable:
+ CIPD Level 3 (or working towards).
+ Experience supporting or observing employee relations processes.
+ Exposure to performance management or engagement initiatives.
Technologies
HRIS platforms
(e.g., Cascade, Workday, SuccessFactors, or similar).
(e.g., ServiceNow, Zendesk, MS Planner) is an advantage.
Qualifications
Educated to
degree level
(HR, Business, or related field preferred) or equivalent professional experience.
Certifications
Preferred / Advantageous
CIPD Level 3
Certificate in People Practice (or working towards).
CIPD Level 5
Diploma in People Management (desirable for future progression).
Training in
employment law basics
or HR compliance.
Data protection/GDPR awareness training or certification.
Health & Safety awareness (e.g., IOSH Working Safely) desirable.
