Housekeeper (Hospitality)

Overview

We're seeking a dependable, detail-focused housekeeper to support the smooth operation of a professionally run residence that operates like a guest house. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, communicates confidently in English, and is proactive in maintaining a clean, welcoming environment for guests.

Key Responsibilities

Clean and maintain all guest house residences according to daily, weekly, and turnover checklists Complete and submit turnover checklists after each guest stay Perform laundry duties for the guest house, including linen care, washing and ironing and inventory tracking Operate a small ironing press and manage in-house laundry efficiently Inspect damaged linen and apply appropriate stain removal and cleaning techniques Conduct regular spring-cleaning and deep-cleaning tasks Monitor and request cleaning supplies as needed Prepare basic meals for guests or residents upon request Greet guests and check on their well-being as appropriate Communicate clearly and professionally with guests, and report concerns to management Maintain confidentiality of all guest and business information

Requirements

South African citizen residing within reasonable proximity to Morningside, Sandton Previous experience in housekeeping or laundry operations (hospitality experience only) Confident using laundry equipment and stain removal techniques Highly organised, detail-oriented, and proactive Friendly and professional in guest interactions Able to work independently and follow instructions Available to work on Sundays and public holidays in line with Hospitality Sectoral Determination To be considered for this role, please answer the screening questions
