Job Summary Upmarket hotel in Knysna is requiring a dynamic Hotel General Manager to oversee this busy property.As a general manager, your primary responsibility is to oversee all aspects of hotel operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and maximizing profitability. With a combination of leadership, hospitality expertise, and business acumen, you will successfully manage all departments, including rooms division, food and beverage, sales and marketing, finance, and human resources, to maintain high service standards and achieve business goals.Job Scope:1.Operations managementOversee all hotel operations, including rooms division, food and beverage outlets, conference, spa and recreation facilities, housekeeping, maintenance, and security, to ensure efficient and seamless service delivery.2.Financial managementDevelop and manage the hotel's budget, forecasting revenue and expenses, analyzing financial performance, and implementing cost-saving measures to optimize profitability and achieve financial targets.3.Sales and marketingConstantly liaise with Head Office Sales & Marketing Departments in order to Lead sales and marketing initiatives to drive revenue growth and market share, including developing sales strategies, targeting key market segments, and cultivating relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, and other stakeholders.4.Guest relationsCultivate positive relationships with guests, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and proactively seeking opportunities to enhance their stay and satisfaction.5.Staff training and developmentRecruit, train, and supervise hotel staff, providing ongoing coaching and feedback to ensure high service standards and a positive work culture.6.Quality controlMaintain high standards of product and service quality, conducting regular inspections, and implementing procedures to ensure consistency and excellence throughout the hotel.Minimum Requirements:Minimum of 5-6 Years Hotel GM experience within a large hotel environmentPrevious Rooms Division Management experience preferredHospitality Management DiplomaMatric Grade 12Own Vehicle & Valid driver licenseExcellent costing and reporting skills
