Job Description

Job Summary Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook dishes to the highest standard in the hot kitchen section
  • Maintain consistency and quality across all hot food items
  • Assist in menu planning and development with a focus on seasonal and locally sourced ingredients
  • Supervise junior kitchen staff and maintain kitchen discipline
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards
  • Work closely with the Sous Chef and Executive Chef to maintain smooth kitchen operations
Requirements:
  • Formal culinary qualification (e.g., Culinary Arts Diploma or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role in a luxury lodge, hotel, or fine dining environment
  • Strong knowledge of hot kitchen techniques and plating standards
  • Passion for bush cuisine with a modern twist
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Willingness to live and work in a remote bush environment on a scheduled rotation
