The Head of Digital will manage all products across the client portfolio, taking ownership of the digital strategy and ensuring the delivery of digital excellence and best-in-class innovation. Youxe2x80x99ll have the responsibility of leading, mentoring and inspiring a broader team who will help to deliver long-term roadmaps across Programmatic, SEM, SEO, Analytics & CRO.

This role offers a unique opportunity for a digital media star to actively drive performance for Media in South Africa.



As Head of Digital you will drive the digital vision and progression roadmaps across Media. To work with clients and teams internally to ensure innovation and efficiency is central to client strategy.

Day-to-Day

  • Develop strategic digital vision for clients for 2024 based on business objectives and shifting market patterns
  • Develop a digital roadmap for clients to help them achieve the digital vision. Including specific key milestones as part of the process.
  • Identifying and recommending media partners that align with based on brandxe2x80x99s strategic vision
  • Drive digital innovation on client accounts through delivering specific tests and opportunities.
  • Develop Client Digital Capability through direction and knowledge support for their internal stakeholders
  • Investigate and deploy best practice and technology to help drive digital in-team efficiency
  • Communicate and translate digital strategy to wider team for implementation
Relationships
  • Work with clients in a consultative manner to help them translate the overarching comms strategy into tangible developments within digital environments.
  • Work with specialist internal teams (eCommerce, programmatic, social & Search) to develop one overarching digital roadmap and strategy that integrates testing and development opportunities for each area.
  • Work with Performance Team to incorporate the technical infrastructure required in strategy directions to ensure delivery of all proposed routes.
  • Work with MDxe2x80x99s, Business Director & Head Of Strategy to finalise client development plans and ensure all digital objectives are being met.
  • Work with the Business Director and Heads of Specialist Areas to drive digital innovation and client PoVxe2x80x99s for the latest developments in the digital space.
  • Working with the Trading Director to ensure Digital investment is maximized where possible.

  • To have already exhibited a demonstrable track record as a valued and trusted member of the team.
  • To be able to work with clients in a consultative way to help them translate internal business objectives into specific digital objectives and developments.
  • To be able to receive, translate and act upon instructions to achieve client objectives.
  • To be good at establishing clear directions; set stretching objectives; layout work in well-planned and organised manner; is a clear and frequent communicator.
SUCCESS CRITERIA
  • Excellent understanding and working knowledge of digital marketing, backed by relevant experience in the major digital channels and proven experience planning holistic digital advertising.
  • Has experience with delivering digital excellence across the full funnel
  • Experience with new business pitches. Has a curious nature with a willingness for continuous learning, keeping up to date with industry updates, new betas and brings testing ideas to clients.
  • Strong leader and able to lead, mentor and motivate a team of experienced digital professionals with experience managing a large team from director level - coord
  • Ability to work well in a team; in a coaching/managing capacity with their team, managing upwards to the head of department and working closely with client partners.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Highly confident and capable presenter. Ability to effectively capture plans/ideas/results in presentations/reports and clearly articulate these back to the client
Qualifications
  • 5+ years work experience
  • Strategic planning/campaign management experience in online advertising or direct marketing
  • Expertise in interactive media planning and buying elements
  • Experience across media technology - Display, Video, Social, and Mobile programmatic
  • Experience with advanced digital ad serving technology
  • Strong analytical thinking and mathematical skills
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Ability to organize and manage detail work, as well as work independently and balance multiple tasks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office solutions
