Pear Tree is seeking an experienced, creative and hands-on Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and drive our food offering forward. This is a key leadership role for someone who is passionate about seasonal produce, consistency, and building a motivated, high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, manage and inspire the kitchen team on a daily basis
Develop, refine and execute menus that align with the Pear Tree brand and seasonal availability
Ensure consistent food quality, presentation and taste across all services
Oversee food costing, stock control, ordering and waste management
Maintain high standards of hygiene, health and safety at all times
Train, mentor and develop junior chefs and kitchen staff
Collaborate with front-of-house and management to ensure smooth service
Manage kitchen rosters, workflow and service efficiency
Drive innovation while respecting customer favourites and business needs
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a busy restaurant environment
Strong leadership and people-management skills
Solid understanding of food costing, GP control and kitchen administration
Passion for fresh, high-quality ingredients and well-executed dishes
Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining standards
Strong organisational and communication skills
Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays and peak periods
