PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Group Marketing Manager (GMM) is accountable for driving the execution of comprehensive marketing activities across the Hyperclear Tech group entities. This role is responsible for developing, reviewing, and finalizing annual marketing strategies, budgets, and key performance indicators (KPIs) tailored to each business in collaboration with the business leadership teams. The GMM works closely with the Group CSO and the leadership teams of the relevant business to define messaging and positioning frameworks that drive successful go-to-market outcomes. Working alongside the Group CSO, the GMM is responsible for driving shared marketing services into the group, helping to define the marketing shared service capability and service model. As part of establishing the shared service model, the GMM is responsible for defining and shaping critically needed capabilities and centers of excellence in the shared marketing service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Strategic Leadership and Marketing Strategy (30%):
  • Develop annual marketing strategies and tactical execution plans: Collaborate with executive leadership and business unit heads to define marketing strategies, messaging, positioning, and budgets for all entities supported by the Group Marketing Centre of Excellence (CoE). Ensure clarity across the Marketing team and work with CoE leads to develop tactical execution plans to deliver against agreed marketing strategies.
  • Define KPIs and manage performance: Establish, track, and regularly report on lead generation, MQL-to-SQL, revenue conversion, and other key metrics across the group.
  • Messaging and Positioning Frameworks: Create and maintain brand positioning frameworks and messaging guides to support successful go-to-market strategies across diverse markets, including South Africa, the UK, Mauritius, EMEA, and LATAM.
2. Campaign and Project Oversight (50%):
  • Campaign and Project Execution and Oversight: Lead the planning, execution, and optimisation of multi-channel marketing campaigns (digital, content, events), predominantly delivering through others while occasionally directly contributing to critical projects as needed.
  • Website and Digital Asset Oversight: Oversee the management of company websites (primarily WordPress-based) and digital content to ensure alignment with marketing strategies, predominantly delivering through others while occasionally stepping in as necessary to execute tasks and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Technical Oversight: Leverage an intermediate understanding of SEO/SEM, content marketing, and performance marketing to ensure effective digital execution through the marketing team, appointed suppliers/partners, and other internal functions and teams.
3. Team Leadership and Cross-functional Collaboration (10%):
  • Team Leadership: Directly manage the mid-level and senior marketing team members and mentor and support junior team members. Ensure the team members have what they need to successfully deliver against marketing strategies and plans, focusing on care, means, and accountability.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Group CSO, BU heads, and other shared service leaders (Finance, HR, Business Risk) to ensure cohesive execution of marketing strategies and tactical plans, while scaling the shared marketing centre of excellence.
  • Mentorship and Development: Provide guidance and mentorship to team members and others across the business, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and alignment with Hyperclear Tech's Legitimate Leadership principles (Care, Means, and Accountability).
4. Stakeholder and Vendor Management Oversight (10%):
  • Internal and External Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, vendors, and partners to align marketing initiatives with business objectives.
  • Resource Allocation and Budget Management: Collaborate with finance and procurement to ensure efficient allocation of marketing budgets and resources, optimising marketing spending and ROI.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • Additional relevant certifications are advantageous.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in marketing, with at least 6 years of marketing leadership experience within the technology sector (B2B and B2C).
  • Proven track record in developing and executing successful marketing strategies across multiple brands and regions.
  • Experience with digital marketing (SEO/SEM, content marketing, social media, and performance marketing), event marketing, and PR.
  • Prior experience in a shared service or multi-brand environment is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record managing and optimising the handover points between marketing and sales/demand teams.
Technical and Functional Expertise:
  • Intermediate proficiency with digital marketing tools (Google Analytics, LinkedIn Ads, Google Ads, Meta Ads) and CMS platforms (WordPress, Squarespace) to ensure you are equipped to manage delivery through the team, appointed suppliers/partners, and other internal functions and teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data-driven insights for continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms and marketing automation tools.
  • Experience with managing multi-channel campaigns and budgeting.
Leadership and Cultural Fit:
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and inspire multi-disciplinary teams in a remote/hybrid environment.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with a proven ability to work cross-functionally.
  • A strategic mindset combined with a hands-on approach -- able to roll up your sleeves when necessary.
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning capabilities, with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable marketing plans and tactics.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and lead a team.
  • Experience scaling marketing functions and restructuring teams to maximise efficiency and results.

  • Proven ability to work autonomously in a remote/hybrid environment and a demonstrated proactive desire to learn.
Key Performance Metrics:
  • Lead Generation and Conversion: Success in converting event and marketing leads into revenue.
  • Campaign ROI and Digital Metrics: Improved digital performance (SEO rankings, conversion rates, engagement metrics).
  • Team Performance: Effective management and growth of the marketing team. Demonstrated ability to deliver through others as well as deliver through self (i.e., able to do the work).
  • Budget and Resource Optimisation: Efficient allocation of marketing spend and achievement of financial targets.
  • Stakeholder Satisfaction: Positive feedback from internal stakeholders and external partners.
