About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Grant Writer to secure funding for the company's nonprofit and community-driven housing initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of writing successful grant proposals to U.S. funding bodies, including foundations, government agencies, and corporate partners. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented writer who can craft compelling narratives, manage multiple applications, and align proposals with the company's mission and goals.
Key Responsibilities
Grant Research & Strategy: Identify and evaluate grant opportunities that align with the organization's mission, housing programs, and community initiatives.
Proposal Development: Write, edit, and submit high-quality grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documents tailored to U.S.-based funders.
Collaboration: Work with internal teams to gather data, impact metrics, and program details required for strong proposals.
Grant Management: Maintain an organized grant calendar to track deadlines, reporting requirements, and follow-up communications.
Proposal Improvement: Revise and enhance existing grant application templates and strategies to increase funding success rates.
Reporting: Prepare progress reports and updates for grantors, ensuring timely submission of all required documentation.
Requirements
3+ years of experience writing and managing grants, preferably for nonprofit or housing-related initiatives.
Strong knowledge of U.S. funding agencies, foundations, and corporate giving programs.
Exceptional writing, storytelling, and editing skills with the ability to craft persuasive and clear proposals.
Proven success in securing grants and meeting application deadlines.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Proficient in English (written and spoken).
Strong research and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in housing, community development, or social impact organizations.
Familiarity with grant management software or CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Bloomerang).
Understanding of budgeting and financial statements to support grant applications.
Experience working with U.S.-based nonprofits or real estate-focused organizations.
