Are you an experienced GIS Developer with a passion for technology and digital innovation?
A leading organisation is seeking a skilled GIS Developer to support their specialised solution development team within the agriculture sector. This role involves planning, designing, and implementing GIS solutions, as well as developing and maintaining web and mobile applications that harness vast datasets--from field measurements to satellite data--to optimise crop yield and quality.
The ideal candidate will have:
- An Honours degree in GIS, Geography, Geospatial Science, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or a related field
- At least 5 years' experience working with GIS in agriculture
- Strong programming skills, particularly with Microsoft SQL Server, ArcGIS REST API, Python, and other scripting languages
- Experience in GIS application development and a thorough understanding of software development lifecycles including Agile and DevOps
- Excellent problem-solving, spatial analysis, and communication skills
- The ability to lead development efforts and mentor junior staff
- Designing and supporting GIS applications on the ArcGIS platform
- Conducting technical reviews
- Maintaining data quality, troubleshooting GIS issues, and ensuring system integrity and security
