Job Description
Minimum Requirements:
- National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology or equivalent
- Registered with the National Council of Science of South Africa as a Geologist
- Competent Person accreditation as defined by SAMREC and SEC guidelines
- Strata Control Certificate
- Rock Mechanics: Hard Rock Paper 1,2 and 3.1 qualifications
- Certificate in 5G mining / Digital mining operation compulsory
- Postgraduate degree in relevant technical discipline advantageous
- Valid Driver's Licence
- Minimum 10 years' experience as a Geologist in a hard rock gold / platinum mining operations
- Experience in 5G mining / digital mining operations highly advantageous
- English
- Mandarin
- Computer literate
- Knowledge in PGM exploration and mining geology
- Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong relationship-building skills, both written and verbal
- Able to set tartgets, deadlines and within time constraints
- Able to identify, and implement new/improve processes, and monitor action plans
- Drilling contracts Management
- Monitor and drive continuous improvement in exploration and operational geology practices at the mine, including database management, grade control, drilling, logging, mapping, modelling, reconciliation, and risk management
- Conduct benchmarking both within the Group and against industry-leading practices
- Excellent knowledge of 5G mining
