Food Runner – Fine Dining Restaurant – Stellenbosch South Africa
Job Description
Our client, a prestigious luxury dining destination in the Cape Winelands, is looking for an energetic and well-presented Food Runner to support the smooth operation of its award-winning restaurant. As part of the front-of-house team, you will play an essential role in ensuring guests enjoy a seamless dining experience by supporting both the service team and kitchen staff.
Key responsibilities will include assisting with table service, polishing plates, cutlery, and serviceware, maintaining impeccable cleanliness in the pass area, and ensuring all mise en place is ready for service. You will also be required to learn the menu, table numbers, and restaurant layout thoroughly, as well as assist with condiments, wine bottle organisation, and communication between the chefs and service team.
The ideal candidate will be well-organised, attentive to detail, and comfortable in a high-pressure fine dining environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with 1-2 years' experience in restaurants or hospitality who is looking to grow within the luxury dining sector.
1-2 years' experience as a food runner, waiter, or in a restaurant/kitchen role
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Professional appearance and grooming
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure in a busy fine dining environment
Flexible, reliable, and team-oriented
Between 1 - 3 Years
