Retail clothing group is looking to engage the services of a Financial Manager.
Main Responsibilities: ACCOUNTS PAYABLE
Assist the Accounts Payable manager to ensure the department runs effectively and efficiently
Ensure all processes and controls are in place with regard to new supplier take on, supplier maintenance, contracts, discounts, terms and conditions and payments
Key liaison with suppliers on payment and credit limit matters
Key liaison with the external auditors to ensure a successful audit
BANKING AND TREASURY
Assist the Banking and Treasury manager to ensure the department runs effectively and efficiently
Ensure all processes and controls are in place with regard to bank reconciliations for stores, e-commerce, interbank transactions and money market accounts
Ensure all agreements are in place with financial institutions, cash collection services and other service providers (Paypal, Klarna, Amazon etc.)
Ensure all bank mandates are maintained at all times with financial institutions
Key liaison with store cash collection service provider
Key liaison with the business (retail operations, e-commerce team, payroll and accounts payable) on all banking related matters
Ensure all store/e-commerce bank accounts are reconciled daily, and that all discrepancies are resolved timeously
Ensure all bank reconciliations are performed and reviewed monthly, and that all discrepancies are resolved timeously xc3x82
Prepare a daily cash flow forecast for 12 months ahead to establish business funding requirements
Assist the Head of Finance with funding requirement reviews and negotiations
Key liaison with banks to ensure business liquidity
STOCK INTEGRITY
Assist the Stock Integrity manager to ensure the department runs effectively and efficiently
Ensure all processes and controls are in place with regard to stock reconciliations for distribution centres and stores
Ensure adequate stock provisions for shrinkage, write-offs and markdowns are in place
Key liaison with the business (retail operations, e-commerce team, warehouse) on all stock related matters
Ensure all stock reconciliations are performed and reviewed monthlyxc3x82
xc3x82 MONTH END, HALF YEAR AND YEAR-END
Close month-end for responsible areas in finance
Ensure all accounts in responsible areas are performed and reviewed monthly
Provide support to business stakeholders
Provide ad hoc reports where necessary
Deal with interim and year-end audit queries
System testing involving new projects or initiatives across different software
Ad hoc surveys relating to responsible areas
Finance and business projects as required from time to time.

Managing a team of approx. 10 employees
Identify key opportunities for areas of responsibility regarding improvement in systems and/or processes/controls
Proactively identify weaknesses for areas of responsibility requiring improvement in systems and/or processes
Manage the implementation of any new systems or processes relevant to the areas of responsibility

xc3x82 QUALIFICATIONS, TRAINING / EXPERIENCE
Qualified CA/ACA/ACCA
Solid and 2 year + managerial experience in Accounts Payable, Retail Banking and Treasury
Solid experience in staff management
Experience in setting up and maintaining a strong control environment
Strong Excel skills
Excellent attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Exposure to Oracle would be advantageous
Solid experience in dealing with internal and external audit reviews
Strong numeric, organisational and interpersonal skills
Good technical and commercial skills
Previous experience of working in a fast paced multi-site retail environment
IT literate with experience gained in larger organisation with multiple platforms.
