An international logistics group with a rapidly expanding footprint in South Africa is seeking an experienced Fleet Supervisor with a strong mechanical and technical background for one of its largest and most dynamic sites in Gauteng. This critical role reports directly to the Senior Operations Manager and involves managing a team of five direct reports, including Fleet Assistants and Mechanics.
The site operates a fleet of over 70 trucks and 200+ drivers, requiring a hands-on fleet specialist with proven leadership, coordination, and mechanical expertise to ensure optimal vehicle performance, uptime, and safety compliance.
Key experience required:
- Fleet management
- Vehicle tracking
- Fuel consumption monitoring
- Tire management
- Cost management
- Mechanical diagnostics and preventative maintenance oversight
- Technical understanding of heavy vehicle systems
- Matric
- Certification or diploma in logistics or a related technical field
- 5 years' experience in a fleet coordinator or supervisor role
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance
- Experience working in the FMCG/Logistics/Supply Chain sectors
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- SAP experience
