Job Description




The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the full financial management and reporting function within the Cyber Security and IT services environment. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, robust internal controls, compliance with IFRS, and effective financial planning to support strategic business decision-making. The incumbent will lead month-end and year-end processes, manage financial operations, enhance financial systems, and provide executive-level insights into business performance, cost optimization, and cash-flow management. The Financial Controller plays a key leadership role in strengthening the financial health of the organization.


Responsibilities




Financial Reporting & Compliance




Lead preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS. Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting. Review and approve accruals, prepayments, deferred revenue, and complex reconciliations. Maintain audit-ready documentation and support external audits. Oversee tax compliance (corporate, employee, VAT) and manage cash flow forecasting.

Financial Operations & Governance




Ensure general ledger integrity and implement robust internal controls. Monitor revenue recognition across subscription, project-based, and managed services models. Drive compliance with corporate policies, accounting standards, and statutory requirements. Develop and enforce financial policies, procedures, and risk controls.

Business Partnering & Planning




Provide financial insights to support strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting. Analyse key cost drivers to identify savings and optimisation opportunities. Partner with operational leaders on financial modelling, margin analysis, pricing, and scenario planning. Present financial results and recommendations to senior leadership.

Leadership & Team Management




Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team. Allocate tasks effectively to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Champion automation and process improvement initiatives.

Systems & Process Improvement




Drive continuous improvement through automation and digital tools. Oversee implementation and optimisation of ERP/accounting platforms (e.g, NetSuite, Xero, Zoho). Enhance integration between finance, procurement, IT, and operations.

Essential Skills


Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Chartered Accountant (CA/ACCA/CIMA) preferred. 5-7 years of progressive financial management experience, including team leadership. Strong background in IT, SaaS, managed services, or technology-driven environments. Proven expertise in IFRS, revenue recognition models, and balance sheet management. Advanced Excel proficiency and experience with ERP systems (SAP, Sage, NetSuite, or equivalent). Demonstrated ability in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Strong leadership and people-development skills. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex financial concepts for non-financial stakeholders. High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment. * Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
