Job Description

An ambitious and pioneering UK accountancy firm is expanding its Cape Town office and is seeking an Finance System Analyst to work Hybrid.
In this position, you will assist the Systems Accountant in managing and enhancing the firm's financial systems, including Practice Engine (our practice management and client database), Power BI (our reporting system), and Vena (our budgeting system).
Roles & Responsibilities:

• Oversee the administration and development of the Practice Engine system, Power BI, and Vena. This includes updating roles and security, maintaining system users, managing document templates, and creating and maintaining financial reports and dashboards as needed.

Assist the Systems Accountant in understanding reporting requirements and designing, developing, and improving financial reports and dashboards, promoting self-service reporting when appropriate.
Utilise SQL queries and maintain reporting through Power BI to support data understanding and financial reporting within the firm.
Troubleshoot issues as they arise.
Assist the Systems Accountant in evaluating the current technology and integration of finance systems to streamline processes and minimise manual work.
Review system performance and identify or resolve issues.
Aid the Systems Accountant with finance system upgrades, developments, and future implementation requirements.
Help the Finance team achieve a timely monthly and year-end close and reconciliation process for finance systems, according to the agreed schedule.
Collaborate with the Systems Accountant to plan and manage major financial processes, such as budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting, offering input and advice on using Practice Engine data for the Finance team.
Provide additional project-related and ad hoc financial support and analysis as needed.
Time and Support:

• Actively support and motivate users at all levels within the firm to maximise the benefits of financial systems.

Provide training and daily support to all employees on using Practice Engine, Power BI, and other financial systems and procedures.
Create and maintain system user guides.

Salary:

• R30,000 - R40,000 / month
