As a finance intern, you'll join us on an exciting journey to conquer financial challenges and be part of the force that keeps our business on the move. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, involves managing a key supplier and helping drive innovation through the implementation of an EDI interface.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing of all DBS invoices via Invoice Monitor.
  • Ensure invoices are coded and authorized in accordance with company policy or matched to an authorized purchase order.
  • Ensure invoices are correctly coded and posted into SAP within 24 hours of approval.
  • Processing of exceptions - invoice submissions deviating from Invoice Monitor process.
  • Review parked document report daily and chase invoices not yet approved for payment.
  • Monitor vendor account balances, ensuring accounts remain in a credit status.
  • Maintain Un-Parked log of all invoices under query, updating as each query is resolved.
  • Ensure the filing system is maintained.
  • Assist with analyzing the invoices posted by preparing various reports on actual costs vs. budget.
  • Assist with the implementation of an EDI interface with DBS.
  • Keep a record of reporting items for management reporting.
  • Deal promptly and efficiently with queries from both vendors and employees.
  • Build and maintain relationships with both vendors and employees.
Other Responsibilities:
  • Act as a back-up to the AP Controller.
Education and Qualifications:

Relevant Diploma or Degree

Knowledge and Skills:
  • First-class oral and written communication skills.
  • Microsoft Excel intermediate to advanced level.
  • A confident telephone manner and the ability to liaise closely with suppliers and employees at all levels.
  • Excellent accounting knowledge and strong reconciliation skills.
  • A proactive individual with the ability to work independently and with other team members in achieving common goals.
  • An organized and efficient individual with a "can-do" attitude.
  • Driven self-starter with energy and enthusiasm to be a high achiever; ability to work under pressure.
  • Deadline-driven.
  • An inquiring mind and logical problem solver.
