Fashion Designer - Seamless Knitting (Airport Industria, Cape Town)

. We are seeking a talented

Fashion Designer

to join our team and play a key role in developing cutting-edge designs using

seamless knitting machines

.

Role & Responsibilities:

Design and develop seamless garments, including

crop tops, tank tops, leggings, shapewear, and underwear

. Translate buyers designs into iPolaris Seamless Software. Utilize

iPolaris software

to create innovative designs and body mapping for

knitting machines

. Work in

close collaboration with the knitting department

to ensure designs are optimized for seamless knitting machines.

Efficiently resolve garment design issues

by working with production teams to troubleshoot and refine designs. Stay updated on fashion trends and implement them into functional and aesthetic designs. Collaborate with the technical team to ensure garment fit, comfort, and performance. Assist in developing colourways, patterns, and textures suitable for seamless knitting.

Requirements:

Minimum 4 years of experience

in

fashion design

, preferably in seamless or performance wear. Proficiency in

iPolaris software

for

knitting machines

(or a strong technical background with a willingness to learn). Experience with

body mapping techniques

for functional and performance-based garments. Comfortable working in a design environment that requires the use of

specialized software and technical equipment

. Strong understanding of

fabric properties, knitting techniques, and garment construction

.

Knowledge of designing with nylon and elastane yarns

, ensuring optimal stretch, durability, and performance. Creativity with a

strong eye for detail

and aesthetics. Up-to-date

Proficiency in English

(both written and spoken) for effective communication. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with a production team.

work on-site
