Job Description
Aliwal North Area xe2x80x93 Eastern Cape: Our client is looking for a Farm Manager xe2x80x93 Livestock with ownership mentality to join the team. Only candidates with the relevant experience will be considered. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Agricultural Diploma / Degree advantageous
- Min of 5 years previous farm management experience
- Experience with cattle & crops
- Experience or knowledge in the following advantageous:
- Horse Stud
- Game
- Experience with project management
- Strong financial acumen
- Must be well-organised with great leadership qualities
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with and motivate a team
- Being maintenance/mechanically orientated
- Somebody who can take ownership and works independently and proactively
- Valid drivers license
- All maintenance of vehicles, implements, roads, water pumps, irrigation, dams, solar pumps, fences & game fences, houses, game lodge, abattoir, butcher, cold rooms, generators, stable block, horse rings and arena, tack room, cottages and staff quarters
- Manage labour 8-10 staff, including leave, labour, salaries, uniforms and accommodation
- Manage and report on all expenditure by month including: petty cash, fuel consumption, electricity use, planting, capex, income and sales, general expenditure
- Manage Nguni herd, cattle sales and marketing
- Manage horse stud
- Manage planting including planning, budgeting, planting, harvesting and baling
- Manage tunnel, vegetable crops and gardens
- Manage hunting lodge operations
