Our client is looking for a Farm Manager to join the team.?
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Matric. Agricultural Diploma/Degree advantageous.
- Min of 3 -5 years previous livestock husbandry & cropping experience.
Computer literate. Attention to detail, reliable & honest. Ability to adapt and work in potentially challenging conditions and situations. Horse-riding an advantage. Must have sober habits and be willing to work long hours & weekends when on shift/ when needed. Must speak Zulu & be good team worker, self-driven & motivated.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Responsible for herd & flock health: Ability to diagnose and effectively treat potential issues & run dosing & drug programme. Understanding of feedlots, shearing, reproductive programs & animal nutritional requirements. Produce bales, silage & mix feed, and monitor usage. Monitor herd fertility, including vet runs for fertility testing & AI of stud sheep. Basic knowledge of fencing and machinery repairs an advantage. Experience in fire burning & veld management. Being mechanically & maintenance orientated. Ability to cull vermin an advantage. Ability to drive JD sprayers, planters, tractors & combine harvesters an advantage. Flexible approach to work, happy to fill in where the team needs him. Must be professional, energetic and diligent with a good work ethic essential.
