Position Summary
Responsible for the installation, maintenance, servicing and repair of all equipment in the factory necessary for the continuity of manufacturing operations and the safety of plant personnel. Staff includes operators, tradespersons, other support personnel and contractors.

Budgeting: Ensure that investigations of proposals of Operation for plant, equipment, and building improvements are conducted to accommodate new products, technology for inclusion in Long-term plans and Capital expenditure or Maintenance & Repair budgets.
Planning: Ensure all required forms, etc, are duly completed in line with specific procedures (work orders not scheduled, completed work orders, Hot Work Permits, registers).
Safety: Establish plans for handling breakdowns and other emergencies such as fire, power failure, etc.
Ensure all safety checks are carried out in terms of the schedule and legal requirements.
Installations: Ensuring that the plant Equipment operates as per designed specifications and recommendations, the OHS Act and recommendations as per NOSA.
Ensure sufficient spares and minor materials are available to staff to enable prompt and efficient repairs to plant and equipment.
Management of Human Resources: Assist in training of various technical staff when required to do so, such as apprentices, vocational students, staff from other factories and Head Office.
Manage direct reports in terms of employee development and performance management.
