The maintenance engineer will be responsible for factory maintenance, operation, continuous improvement, and execution of projects on manufacturing equipment. The successful candidate will be based in Dunnottar, Nigel. This role reports to the Maintenance Engineering Manager.Department: Industrialization and FacilitiesVacancy: Maintenance EngineerPurpose of the Job:Establish, lead and manage the maintenance, repairs, inspections, service, and overhaul activities within the allocated area of responsibility.To ensure that equipment is always in sound operational state and adhering to engineering standards and statutory requirements.Key responsibilities include the following:Conduct regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs of production equipment.Leading the planning and scheduling of the maintenance activities.Plan the daily maintenance schedule and prioritize critical activities.Develop and implement maintenance schedules and plans to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.Train and mentor junior artisans and technicians in maintenance procedures and best practices.Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and regulations to ensure compliance and optimal performance.Conduct regular plant task observations.Administer and validate artisans time and attendance submissions.Familiarity with labour relations act and fostering good employee relations.Develop and apply good maintenance practices e.g. implementation of SOPxe2x80x99s.Failure investigation and process analyses and reporting.Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.Maintaining a safe working environment and implementing effective safety procedures.Perform other duties that are related to the function as prescribed by business requirements.Requirements:N. Diploma or B. Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.At least 3 years in a supervisory role in a maintenance management environment within the manufacturing industryTechnical knowledge of spot-welding equipmentKnowledge of production operations and manufacturing experienceKnowledge of maintenance management strategies and their applicationKnowledge of ERP SystemsTeam management skills.Closing Date: 31 August 2023Alstom is the leading company in the mobility sector, solving the most interesting challenges for tomorrowxe2x80x99s mobility.
