Facilities Intern
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the maintenance of company facilities infrastructure to ensure proper functionality
Conduct routine inspections and testing of equipment to identify faults or inefficiencies
Support preventative maintenance activities alongside technicians, ensuring safety compliance
Assist in installation, repair, and troubleshooting of facility infrastructure components
Document maintenance activities and prepare reports on system performance
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and compliance regulations
Collaborate with the Facilities team and external contractors on infrastructure projects
Support energy efficiency initiatives and sustainability projects
Core Competencies:
Strong technical aptitude in electrical, mechanical, and electronic systems
Knowledge of electrical safety regulations and compliance standards
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
Proficiency in Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Effective communication and teamwork skills
Attention to detail and ability to work independently
Requirements:
Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
National Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Mechanical (HVAC), or related field
Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical (HVAC), and electronic systems
Awareness of maintenance practices and safety regulations
Previous internship, practical training, or coursework in electrical/mechanical (HVAC) work is advantageous
