Job Description
Kendrick Recruitment is urgently seeking a vibrant & adaptable Head Chef for a stunning 5* game lodge in Addo National Park (Eastern Cape), less than an hour from Port Elizabeth. This unique game lodge is renowned for its warm hospitality and attention to detail. The successful applicant will therefore have the following attributes:
- Well presented with excellent communication skills (English)
- Min of 3 yearsxe2x80x99 experience as a Head Chef in a 5* environment (essential)
- Ability to fully manage a small, yet efficient, kitchen team - must also be able to self-manage & take initiative
- Good understanding of nutrition, food allergies restrictions and choices e.g. vegetarian, gluten-free etc.
- Bush experience is essential
- Self-motivated and discipline is essential and we are wanting the candidate to xe2x80x9cxe2x80x9down itxe2x80x9dxe2x80x9d
- Solid management skills with experience in stock control, staff training, menu planning and kitchen policy and procedures
- Health and safety training/ qualification / experience an asset
- Team development and training of his/her team
- Ensuring that the operating standards of the lodge are adhered to
- Menu preparation which includes seasonal rotation
- Qualification from a reputable Cookery school/ academy
- Must have a stable work history with contactable references
- Must have valid driver's license and own transport (non-neg)
