Job Description

Job Summary This is a unique opportunity to lead the culinary team at a stunning safari lodge. The ideal candidate will be a senior-level chef who is comfortable working independently in a remote, luxury environment. You'll be responsible for upholding high standards of food quality and presentation, while also training and mentoring kitchen staff to provide service excellence.
Candidate Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience as an Executive Chef.
  • A passion for creating exceptional food and a great understanding of different world cuisines.
  • Experience in luxury lodges or villas in other African settings.
  • Good administrative abilities, including cost management, ordering, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene principles, including HACCP.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience in training and managing kitchen staff.
  • An understanding of the unique challenges of working in a remote location and the logistics involved.
  • Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English. Basic Setswana is a plus.
  • A proactive, driven, and honest individual with career ambitions.
This is a live-in role.
