Job Description
Job Summary This is a unique opportunity to lead the culinary team at a stunning desert lodge, known for its exceptional guest experiences. The ideal candidate will be a senior-level chef who is comfortable working independently in a remote, luxury environment. You'll be responsible for upholding high standards of food quality and presentation, while also training and mentoring kitchen staff to provide service excellence.
Candidate Requirements:
- A degree or diploma in chefing from a recognized institution.
- 5 years of relevant experience as an Executive Chef in a 5-star establishment.
- A passion for creating exceptional food and a great understanding of diverse world cuisines.
- Good administrative abilities, including cost management, ordering, and reporting.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene principles, including HACCP.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience in training and managing kitchen staff.
- An understanding of the unique challenges of working in a remote location and the logistics involved.
- Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English. Basic Setswana is a plus.
- A proactive, driven, and honest individual with career ambitions.
