The Events & Duty Manager is responsible for organizing and overseeing shifts at the Restaurant and Reception. This includes providing support and guidance to staff to ensure smooth operations and a positive guest experience in line with company policies and procedures. The role involves addressing resident queries and concerns, assisting the Village Manager as needed, and having a strong understanding of facility management to support various needs within the facility.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring the smooth functioning of all resident and employee activities.
Continuously monitor and analyze: Resident satisfaction, restaurant and bar services, event calendars, POS systems, stock control, resident food and beverage accounts, operating costs, sanitation, cleanliness, and hygiene standards.
Manage and coordinate prompt, efficient, and courteous service during food & beverage (F&B) operations.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with employees and residents.
Assist in developing formal training plans and conduct on-the-job training sessions for restaurant and front office employees during shifts.
Address guest complaints in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner.
Prepare and manage the F&B department budget and set operational goals.
Maintain consistent guest contact to ensure satisfaction and improve the guest experience.
Manage the monthly events calendar, collaborating with residents and committees to maintain a vibrant and engaging schedule of events.
Research new events, suppliers, wine tastings, and food and beverage experiences to continually enhance offerings.
Increase food and beverage revenue through targeted events such as themed dinners and other promotions.
Handle payroll responsibilities.
Ensure the achievement of goals and objectives as outlined by the Operations and Estate Managers.
Oversee various rooms, such as the library, meeting rooms, and game rooms.
Support food promotions, assist with menu creation, and contribute to event planning.
Manage financial responsibilities including POS operations, end-of-day reconciliations, resident F&B accounts, stock takes, operating costs, and invoicing.
Qualifications & Experience:
Strong knowledge of F&B standards, quality presentation, service, and health and safety standards, as well as front office operations and systems.
Proficient in menu planning, with an understanding of how menu choices impact productivity and profitability.
Knowledge of marketing plans, competition, promotional concepts, and F&B cost controls.
Awareness of food trends and seasonal ingredients.
Ability to analyze financial information, prepare budgets, and set outlet goals.
Skilled in defining productivity standards and methods to meet quality requirements.
Knowledge of legal regulations relating to menu truthfulness, liquor liability, health and safety, and contract law.
Education: Higher National Diploma (HND) or equivalent required.
At least 3-4 years of experience in a related position.
In-depth knowledge and experience in F&B and/or front office operations is advantageous.
Must have reliable transport and be able to work weekends and nights when required.
