Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelorxe2x80x99s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Masterxe2x80x99s degree preferred.
• Proven experience (10+ years) in electrical engineering, preferably in a similar industry or with complex electromechanical systems.
• Strong knowledge of electrical principles, circuit design, power distribution, and control systems.
• Proficiency in CAD software for electrical design (AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical, etc.).
• Proficient in embedded systems programming, with the ability to effectively integrate software with new or existing hardware to ensure seamless functionality and optimal performance.
• Familiarity with relevant electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey technical information.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Disciplined with the ability to work remotely.
• Within traveling distance from Stellenbosch area.

Duties and responsibilities: * Electrical System Design:

xe2x80x93 Design and develop electrical systems, controls, and components for the cable way installation and any upgrades then needed.
xe2x80x93 Create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and specifications to guide construction and maintenance activities.
xe2x80x93 Determine appropriate electrical components, such as motors, controllers, safety devices,communication devices, batteries, chargers, drives, sensors, to ensure reliable and efficient operation. * Project Management:

xe2x80x93 Collaborate with the team to ensure electrical engineering tasks align with project timelines and objectives.
xe2x80x93 Participate in project planning, cost estimation, and resource allocation related to electrical engineering aspects. * Installation and Commissioning:

xe2x80x93 Oversee the installation and commissioning of electrical systems for new cable way installations and then any upgrades.
xe2x80x93 Conduct tests, inspections, and quality checks to ensure compliance with safety standards and specifications. * Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

xe2x80x93 Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.
xe2x80x93 Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues that may arise during operation, implementing timely solutions to minimise downtime. * Regulatory Compliance:

xe2x80x93 Stay current with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations related to electrical engineering and motorised zip-line operations.
xe2x80x93 Ensure that all electrical designs and installations adhere to safety guidelines and compliance requirements. * Documentation and Reporting:

xe2x80x93 Maintain accurate records of electrical designs, modifications, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting procedures.
xe2x80x93 Generate reports and documentation for internal use and regulatory authorities as needed. * Collaboration and Training:

xe2x80x93 Collaborate with mechanical engineers, maintenance technicians, and other teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical and mechanical systems.
xe2x80x93 There may be some specialist engineering subcontractors such as telecommunications, controllers and batteries that you will need to manage.
xe2x80x93 Provide technical guidance and training to junior engineers and technicians.
