Job Description

A leading global power producer specialising in renewable energy solutions, known for their innovative asset management solutions for their owned and operated utility-scale renewable energy plants, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their team as a balance of plant specialist. The ideal candidate will be an expert in BoP and I&C to support the power generation fleet effectively. The role requires an individual capable of engaging with all internal and external stakeholders, including power utilities, contractors, suppliers, and Global counterparts, demonstrating project management experience and the ability to collaborate effectively to achieve plant production objectives.
Key Responsibilities

• Support multiple plant managers to maintain and improve plant production on all EBoP installations.
• Undertake ad-hoc technology projects and develop and deliver innovative solutions to operational challenges.
• Ensure electrical compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
• Act as the Technical Lead for electrical troubleshooting, complex faults, and major component failures.
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and forensic investigations into equipment performance.
• Define and implement electrical maintenance strategies, procedures, and best practices.
• Provide expert guidance on all electrical systems, including HV/MV/LV systems, protection systems, inverters, and transformers.
• Manage budgets for specific electrical maintenance projects and identify and mitigate electrical risks (e.g., those causing curtailment).
• Collaborate with Global Engineering/Technical teams to introduce new technology or process improvements.
• Support the commercial and business development teams with expert technical advice.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• BEng/BTech in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 5+ years' experience in the electrical and/or renewable energy industry.
• Minimum 5+ years' experience in technical operations and maintenance of electrical equipment (LV/MV/HV).
• Proven site experience in a power generation plant is mandatory.
• Strong technical knowledge of renewable power plants' electrical equipment, components, and systems (substation, transformer, protection systems, inverters, cables, etc.).
• Knowledge of substation SCADA, metering and protection systems, as well as interfacing with system platforms.
• Conversant with switchgear from major brands.
• Exceptional analytical skills, self-motivation, excellent organisation and planning, and a results-oriented approach.
