Purpose:

To ensure compliance with regulations, protect the environment and human wellbeing by identifying, evaluating and controlling hazards and risks in the workplace To assist management representatives in all aspects of Environmental, Health and Safety portfolio

Key Responsibilities

:

Update all ISO EHS databases and related documents and ensure adherence to pre-defined standards Develop EHS protocols and prepare, participate in and facilitate EHS meetings and programs Ensure and monitor OHS legislative requirements for subcontractors involved on site Conduct investigations of accidents/ incidents, ensuring the completion of documents and reports Submit conclusive reports and evidence of adherence and preventative plans to ensure adherence Review and maintain EHS reports and inspections - viz IMS reports Follow up on and ensure conclusion of all non-conformances and recommendations and make recommendations on remedial actions Identify and implement EHS and statutory training needs and conduct risk assessments Identify and prepare safe work procedures and initiate corrective actions where necessary Update associated ISO and EHS databases Co-ordinate and facilitate - legal and compliance audits, hygiene surveys and other related legal requirements in the workplace Implement and ensure maintenance of current OH&S and other related legislative requirements in the workplace Identify potential hazards in the workplace and/ or facility and evaluate the risks associated with exposure to such materials/ conditions Stay up to date on IOD legal compliance and other relevant procedures Any ad-hoc tasks as assigned
