Job Purpose
The responsibilities of this position include:


providing for the needs of ECP students and contributing to curriculum and staff development in line with ECP guidelines

engage in academic research and administrative activities within the unit, work collaboratively with faculties to plan and roll out interventions for ECP students

identify training needs for ECP staff, and organize or facilitate training and workshops to meet the needs

be involved in regional and national ECP initiatives.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Masters/MTech in Education or related field

2 years experience in student support, academic support or ECP teaching


Understanding of ECP environment and higher education curriculum issues

Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities

Academic Staff development

- provide academic staff development and support to academic staff in teaching and curriculum through appropriate training and workshops in consultation with ECP Coordinators in Faculties and other stakeholders at the University T

eaching and curriculum development

- assist in curriculum development in line with ECP policy, and in response to students' needs; support and induct students into ECP. Provide support to Foundation/ECP coordinators on the implementation of programmes in the faculty

Research

- work collaboratively with faculty to identify, plan, conduct, roll out and publish research into teaching and learning

General and project administration

- participate in professional meetings, arrange workshops in collaboration with support staff, and report on completed projects. Maintain data analytics on programmes related to student success in Foundation and ECP programmes. Competencies
