Job Description
Seeking a Senior Researcher to join a leading scientific and technology research organization in South Africa. This organization focuses on researching, developing, localizing, and diffusing technologies to accelerate socio-economic prosperity in the region. SAM or CGE experience is essential.
Please note that the research will be in the renewable energy sector but experience in this sector is not mandatory.
Requirements:
- An Honours degree in energy economics, economics, science or engineering with at least six yearsxe2x80x99 working experience
- Experience in the green economy sector or energy industry development support or energy transition domain or energy-related projects in biogas, solar PV, wind, green hydrogen etc will be highly advantageous.
- A Masterxe2x80x99s degree will be advantageous
- Experience in an economic modelling is essential.
- Ability to draft proposals, attract funding and lead project teams.
- Experience in Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) or Social Accounting Matrices (SAM) modelling essential.
- Experience in macro-economic impact analysis will be advantageous.
