Job Description
An established luxury boutique hotel in Franschhoek is seeking a hands-on Duty Manager to support daily hotel operations and ensure consistently high guest satisfaction. This role suits a confident hospitality professional who thrives in a service-focused, fast-paced environment and enjoys being actively involved in both guest engagement and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the day-to-day operation of the hotel, ensuring smooth coordination across guest-facing departments Engage with guests throughout their stay, proactively managing feedback and resolving concerns with professionalism Support Front Office, Reservations, and Finance through effective communication and operational control Monitor guest feedback from check-out and online platforms and assist management in driving service improvements Conduct regular team briefings and training aligned to SOPs and service standards Manage room moves, occupancy changes, and departmental communication to ensure operational efficiency Oversee front office financial controls including floats, supplier accounts, and zero-balance procedures Ensure adherence to health and safety standards, company policies, and professional conduct at all times
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Duty Manager or Assistant Hotel Manager Experience within a luxury or 5-star hotel environment advantageous Hospitality or Hotel Management qualification Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills Proficiency in hotel systems and general computer literacy Flexible to work shifts including weekends and night duty High levels of integrity, attention to detail, and guest focus
