in the Printing and Packaging Sector is looking for a talented and detail-oriented

DTP / Designer

to join their pre-press and design department. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and designing artwork for print and packaging, ensuring all files are production-ready, visually accurate, and aligned with client specifications. This role requires both creative design ability and strong technical understanding of print processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and prepare artwork layouts for packaging, cartons, and various print materials. Ensure all designs are print-ready, correctly formatted, and meet production requirements. Adjust and adapt existing artwork as required for different substrates, die-lines, and print methods. Collaborate with the Repro, Sales, and Production teams to ensure accuracy, brand consistency, and timely delivery. Check colours, fonts, images, and resolutions to maintain the highest quality standards. Maintain proper file management, version control, and adherence to ISO documentation standards. Assist in creating mock-ups, proofs, and visual presentations when needed.

Required Abilities:

Creative with a strong eye for layout, colour, and typography. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy under tight deadlines. Able to multitask and manage multiple jobs simultaneously. Good communication and teamwork across departments. Reliable, organized, and quality focused.

Required Skills and Experience:

Matric (Grade 12) essential. Minimum 3 years' experience in DTP or graphic design for print or packaging. Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat). Understanding of die-lines, trapping, colour separations, and print specifications. Knowledge of ISO and pre-press standards advantageous. Own reliable transport essential.

Salary (CTC) depending on experience.
