We have an exciting on-site opportunity for a Senior Creative Artworker (DTP/Designer) to
join the small, tight knit team at a dynamic creative advertising agency in Cape Town. The
agency is part of a renowned global Group and boasts an integrated, full-service offering.
The successful candidate will work within the artwork production division to create and
execute artwork for a variety of print and web-ready deliverables, including brochures,
banners, digital assets, point-of-sale, reports, and presentations across the client portfolio,
from initial concepts through to final artwork and delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver intricate and accurate artwork on schedule and within budget for a range of low to high-volume projects and campaigns
  • Consistently, precisely, and to the highest quality retouch and process images for use in print and digital
  • A keen eye for detail while making sure each piece of artwork meets the highest requirements for quality control and assurance
  • Collaborate with all production departments (Artwork, Motion, Digital, 3D, Agency Producers, and Studio Operations)
  • Liaise with print production teams on print preparation for physical installation
  • Articulate rationale and feedback in a thoughtful and articulate manner
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships within the agency
  • Interpret and develop client briefs alongside the creative and client service teams to drive up standards of creativity
  • Carry out all instructions and requirements quickly and efficiently with commercial awareness
  • Always develop and maintain a good understanding of the agency's culture and act in its best interests
  • Act in the best interests of the Agency and Group always
  • Work collaboratively with all client service and creative teams
  • Collaborate efficiently with all regional and international offices and remote employees across all creative artwork projects
  • Delegate and collaborate with teammates across multiple creative artwork projects.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have/be:
  • Relevant visual communications tertiary qualification
  • Ability to think creatively to enable the rollout of initial ideas across multiple outputs.
  • Print and digital industry awareness: Excellent working knowledge of print artwork, digital artwork and photo retouching.
  • Proven proficiency and technical skills within Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile, and deadline-driven production environment
  • Ability to adhere to department-wide processes
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to inform project discussions and decisions
  • 3 years relevant industry experience
  • Strong portfolio of work showcasing a mixture of print artwork, digital artwork and retouching ability
  • The required technical knowledge and demonstrable understanding of working with CMYK, RGB and PMS (Pantone Matching System)
  • Ability to collaborate on presentations built using Google Slides and/or Microsoft PowerPoint (SharePoint online co-authoring)
  • Understanding of Adobe Bridge - desirable
  • Understanding of FIGMA/Sketch - desirable
  • Knowledge of 2D and 3D production - desirable
  • Excellent face to face and telephone communicator - desirable
  • Ability to encourage and develop junior members - desirable
  • Keen eye for detail, layout and typography
  • Ability to articulate concepts and ideas to the wider team
