Now Hiring: Qualified Dispensing Optician with a Passion for Vision Therapy
Our client, a dynamic and forward-thinking optometry practice based in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, is seeking a Qualified Dispensing Optician to join their team in a full-time hybrid role. This exciting opportunity blends the technical expertise of a dispenser with the relational responsibilities of frontline interaction -- and most importantly, the meaningful work of a Vision Therapist.
This position offers the chance to make a real impact in the lives of patients, particularly children, through both visual care and therapy.
The Ideal Candidate Will Be:

• A Qualified Dispensing Optician with a professional and caring approach.
• Open-minded and willing to undergo training in Vision Therapy (no prior experience required).
• Naturally warm, excellent with children, and able to build trust and rapport with ease -- this is non-negotiable.
• Mature, preferably a parent, who brings life experience and emotional intelligence to the role.
• Comfortable using Eminence software with proven experience in a dispensing setting.
• A fluent English speaker with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Hours:

• Monday - Friday: 08:30 - 17:30
• Saturdays: 08:15 - 13:00 (only three Saturdays per month)
• For every Saturday worked, a half-day off during the week is provided

Salary Band:

• R14,500 - R17,500 gross, depending on experience and suitability

Minimum Requirements

• Dispensing Optician Diploma
• HPCSA Registration
• Relationship Building Abilities
• Fluent in English
• Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-end practice.
• Exceptional knowledge of various lens options, frames, and optical products.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with patients.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organisational abilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Tech-savvy with experience in using optical software and tools
