Mon, Wed, Thurs and Saturdays 09:00 - 12:00

Duties:

Playing organically with the boys. Keeping boundaries in place and guiding them in accepted behavior while embracing their experience. Setting up activities in a mindful manner while understanding Montessori or Reggio Emilia approaches. Offering them sincere conversation and book reading. Eating with them and doing chores alongside them to show care of environment.

Most importantly being able to set aside expectations and just be present.

Boys are still breastfeeding and co-sleeping so the au pair would be like an extra pair of hands during awake time. Unlikely to ever need to watch them alone.

Requirements:

Preferably young and mindful. Enjoying the company of children. Having respect and compassion. Interest and understanding of the Montessori philosophy and approach would be ideal and a willingness to keep learning. Interest in homeschooling and living conscientiously.

We are vegan and in the process of planting as many edible plants as possible.

Start date:

January/ February 2026 - Permanent role

Salary:

R9000 - R10000 per month (gross, before deductions) plus SARS Rates (R4.76) per km



All Au Pair Extraordinaire applicants must fill the following requirements:

Must have at least 12 consecutive months of formal child caring experience, excluding work done for friends and family. This experience must be within the last 2 years.

Must have their own, reliable car and at least 18 months driving experience.

Must have at least 2 contactable childcare references.

Must have a clear criminal record

Must have a passion for children

Must have Matric

Must have a South African ID document.
