Division: Enterprise Architecture PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth deployment, automation, and scaling of our applications and infrastructure. You will work closely with our Development and Infrastructure teams to streamline processes and optimise the development lifecycle. The company is currently embarking on a Greenfield Project, shaping the future of technologies used and you will form a part of this team for this project amongst the day-to-day DevOps processes. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: Form part of the core team for a Greenfield project. Collaborate with software developers to understand application requirements and design appropriate infrastructure solutions. Implement and manage continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. Automate manual processes to improve efficiency and reduce errors. Monitor, maintain and potentially re-implement On-Prem clusters or Cloud Architecture (Azure) to ensure high availability and performance. Troubleshoot issues related to deployments and infrastructure. Implement security best practices to protect data and applications. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
MINIMUM SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role. (Minimum 3 years) Proficient in Docker, Kubernetes & Terraform. Proficient with Jira, Bitbucket. Experience with configuration management tools (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef). Proven Experience with CI/CD Tools. Knowledge of cloud services and infrastructure as code (IAC) Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) Understanding of Agile workflows is advantageous. Certification in DevOps and/or DevOps systems/tools are advantageous BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: Excellent communication, problem-solving and time-management skills Must be able to perform individually and as part of a team Excellent analysis and troubleshooting skills, must be willing to learn and work with technologies not previously used.
