It focuses on building strong, resilient organisations and communities to respond effectively to HIV, AIDS, TB, gender-based violence (GBV), Human Rights, and broader public health and social challenges.
The duties and responsibilities of the Deputy Programme Manager
will
include, but not limited to:
Support the Programme Manager with strategic and operational planning, coordination, and oversight of AYP programme implementation.
Identify service delivery gaps and opportunities for innovation and contribute to programme expansion initiatives.
Oversee implementing partners, including partner selection, contracting, mentoring, and compliance monitoring.
Use data, site visits, and reports to track programme quality, risks, and performance, addressing shortcomings promptly.
Strengthen partner capacity and promote standardisation and cross-learning across stakeholders.
Build and maintain strong relationships with government, civil society, youth networks, and donors.
Provide leadership and mentoring to programme staff as delegated
Required qualifications, skills, and experience
A relevant degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, or related field (postgraduate qualification preferred).
At least 5 years' experience in programme management, leading direct implementation teams and or implementing partners in a target driven healthcare programme.
Strong knowledge of health, HIV prevention, sexual and reproductive health - within the relevant South African Frameworks relevant to Adolescents and Young People, key populations, gender-based violence, and human rights.
Strong knowledge and competent skill set of Monitoring and Evaluation processes, including digital systems
Proven ability to build partnerships with civil society, donors, and government stakeholders.
Excellent project management, financial oversight, and reporting skills.
Relevant working experience in the NGO sector.
Willingness to travel nationally as required.
