Dis-Chem Pharmaciesxe2x80x99 in Midrand has an opportunity available for a DC Dispatch Supervisor to join the team. The main purpose of this role will be to achieve operational excellence within the Dis-Chem Warehouse incorporating functions in the following areas, order consolidation, route planning, dispatch both Local and Line-haul, returns, vehicle maintenance and in so doing ensure that both legal and customer requirements, are met.

Minimum Requirementsxe2x80xa6

Essential:

• Grade 12 / Matric

• Transport Management or Supply-Chain / Logistics Degree or Diploma
• 2 years relevant experience in a Distribution, Logistics or Supply Chain Environment
• Computer Literacy - MS Office

Job Specificationxe2x80xa6

• Ensure optimal route and space planning to meet the day-to-day strategic objectives.
• Understand and execute the planning process involved when stock leaves the distribution centre.
• Ensure routing of vehicles to ensure optimum utilisation and vehicle turnaround times.
• Arrange returns and collection of the upliftments, which must be tracked throughout the return process.
• Ensure accurate administration for transactional excellence.
• Manage and adhere to GWP, SHE programme and OHS act.
• Ensure drivers are debriefed, paperwork is filled and queries resolved.
• Ensure admin and daily checking of all delivery log sheets takes place, to facilitate queries and credit note request.
• Monitor fleet running cost and diesel usage.
• Assist in supervising maintenance records of vehicles.
• Processes all accidents and insurance claims.
• Monitor internal and driver performance, to ensure good customer service both internally and stores.
• Prevent and act on security or risk issues and ensure that risks are dealt with proactively.
• Assist in supervising outsourced companies, including daily and monthly monitoring of SLA`s and costs.

Competencies

Essential:

• Knowledge of Distribution Centre, logistics and supply chain operations.
• Have knowledge of the business measures and targets, directly related to own role.
• Be able to communicate proactively in order to build co-operative relationships with internal customers.
• Ability to work under pressure

• English xe2x80x93Read, write and speak.
