DATABASE ENGINEER X2

Start Date: 8 January 2024 Company/ Our client Our client is a leading Agricultural ERP System, providing producers with true cloud software to complement their operational requirements. Their software package is unique, as it inte- grates all production activities into a single management platform. It is a true cloud-based application that enables producers to monitor and control their operations from anywhere in the world, by using a web-browser, or mobile device running Android or Apple iOS. About the role They are seeking a skilled Database Engineer to join their team. The Database Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining database systems for the clients to ensure that data is organized, secured, and accessible to users. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of database concepts and principles and will be able to work col- laboratively with other teams to ensure that the database systems meet the needs of the busi- ness. Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement database systems that are efficient, reliable, and secure
• Develop and maintain data models, database schemas, and database objects
• Configure and maintain database software and hardware, including upgrades and patches
• Develop and implement data backup and recovery plans
• Monitor and optimize database performance, identifying and resolving issues that impact system availability or performance
• Implement access controls and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including data corruption and connectiv- ity problems
• Provide technical support and guidance to users, including training on database systems and answering questions related to data access and usage
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure that database systems meet the needs of the business
• Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in database engineering and related fields

Key Measurables

• Development and support hours managed (Budgeted, quoted, and non-billable)
• Technical proficiency shown in: Custom solutions, Troubleshooting, Bug, and data fixes
• Report progress to management and Account Manager (Timeline; sprint and to do list items)
• Quality of implemented solutions (Data structure, testing, reporting)
• Monitoring and updating databases to ensure optimized performance
• Management support, effective teamwork, and communication

Knowledge, Skills & Personal Attributes

• Strong understanding of database concepts and principles
• Proficiency in SQL programming and scripting languages
• Experience with database software, such as DBflex, MySQL, or Oracle
• Experience with database design and data modeling
• Knowledge of database backup and recovery strategies
• Understanding of database security and compliance requirements
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• INTERNAL TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED

Qualifications

• Bachelorxe2x80x99s degree in computer science or higher, Information Systems, Software Develop- ment, Data Analytics, or related fields
• Must be able to work in a hybrid work environment and as part of a dynamic team of young engineers and account managers
